I had seen this one before, but thanks for the reminder. What a great collection of sites - but so many to look at.

A few I HADN'T seen and am going to check out are:
http://hotpot.uvic.ca/
http://www.befunky.com/
http://www.asterpix.com/

And another great collection of sites to take a look at (even though they are not all Web 2.0) is http://blog.ted.com/2007/08/100_websites_yo.php.

Interesting thought... I know of a few school districts, especially in Northern Ontario, where all students have laptops. And they're MacBooks. And it's not just a pilot project, they've been doing this for years.

Anyways, we tried out the Eee PC here and found pretty much the same things as you did... Very small and totally not as functional as our 17" MacBooks but super sweet when heading somewhere where you don't want to carry around a massive laptop.

Glad you enjoy your free laptop!! Cheers!

Charlie is truly a great communicator and I'm looking forward to hearing him again soon (I believe he's heading this way to motivate us at the DEC Orientation in mid August).

We do need to help kids learn about "how to present", and we have to go so much further than what technology allows us to do. We all need to explore how to tell great stories in order to connect and contribute to learning.

Good luck on your presentation, I look forward to reading your posts from CONTACT.

Anne...absolutely!

I can't imagine being a teacher / learner who is not simply fascinated by the world. Our experiences as global citizens can help us prepare our students.

Thanks for stopping by. If you want to travel, my area of the world is VERY beautiful and unique.

It really is an investment that will enhance NMS (and hopefully other middle/high schools in the district).

I look forward to your Twitter updates and reading your expanded thoughts here. Enjoy!
